The design was inspired by the vintage Selmer Metal Jazz pieces, but it is a little brighter sounding than these legendary pieces. This piece produces wonderfully lush sub tones, an even tone all the way up the register, with popping and focused altissimos.

About the Gold Genesis Saxophone Mouthpiece

The baffle is a "roll over" type, and it goes all the way to the chamber opening, where it drops off in a small semi-circle shape. The chamber is medium-large. Underneath the rails is "straight", not "scooped out". The facing is medium-long. Most important to is how all the factors come together. I would describe the playability as easy and versatile. The sound can be dark, but it can also be played a little brighter. These mouthpieces are "easy to control", and have little or no "buzz", which allows the player to produce a clear and rich sound. That is what makes these great mouthpieces.
